When I connected my xperia S to my laptop, a prompt saying that there's an available update for my unit. May what is this update all about and what are the modifications it will give my unit should I try to accept the update? At least I have already an idea on what to expect once I engage my xperia s to an update. Any answer is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Haha @Rajz. What's your SI number? Nasa list na ba? Nakikialam na pala si lord sa cellphone natin. What error message are you getting ba?
Meron na nga kaso hindi ko alam kung ilang centuries bago matatapos....mukhang naghahang. SOS. Any advice can you give? I don't know if it's with my internet connection. Ok naman ba ang ICS? Hindi ba tulad ng mga feedback na nababasa natin from other countries?
It's 360+MB, it downloaded fast on my Internet connection. After download, it should just take even less than 5 minutes to install. It could be your connection, dude.
I have been browsing through the post ng mga problems after updating, and so far, wala naman ako na-experience na ganun. The only thing I have an issue with is yung forwarding SMS to a number in the phonebook na walang country code. Yun lang. Other than that, it's all butter. Very smooth and pretty stable. I guess it still comes down to how much apps you have in the phone in terms of lag. Obviously if you have lots of applications installed and running at the same time, it could take a toll on your processor. So you can expect ganun din pag may mga widgets na madami sa homescreen. Pero I have enough widgets on my screen and it's running decently.
I'll say this again, with the update, you can tell the SXS is made with ICS in mind. I'm loving it. So if you love the latest GB update, you will find this even more lovable.
Yep my SI Number is on the list SI#: 1257-2761 its been couple of days now though.
Error message on PCC
"Unable to blah blah blah ---until step 2"
Error message on SUS
"An unexpected error has occurred...blah blah blah --- Synchronization time"
Sad...:smileycry:
Did someone manually updated to ICS? may mga problems ba?
@Rajz, I did, initially. When it was released, I manually flashed my phone. Kahapon, I downloaded the official one via SUS. No problem whatsoever dun sa manual, except it was a bit difficult to take a screenshot. You really have to time pressing the power button and the volume down button almost perfectly. Although when I downloaded the official one, that problem was gone.
*sigh* Gusto ko official kaso yun nga ERROR parin....:smileycry: anyways....
Thanks almightybong is this what happened to you?..does your PCC and SUS says that the update is already available?.,coz mine is still saying that i do have the updated software, and one thinh is your SI no are on the list?.
Yes, that's exactly what I did, and my SI is already on the list. When you plug your phone in, SUS and PCC will say that you already have the latest software since you manually flashed it already, right? But you can click to install anyway (repair in PCC), it will download the applicable version and install that into your phone. It worked with no hassle for me.
Pre, try mo nlng pa-update sa service center. We can give you suggestions and instructions all day but it wouldn't hurt trying the service center option. PCC was giving me errors so I used SUS and that worked. You can also try updating from another PC or laptop. BTW, we have the same SI number.
