When I connected my xperia S to my laptop, a prompt saying that there's an available update for my unit. May what is this update all about and what are the modifications it will give my unit should I try to accept the update? At least I have already an idea on what to expect once I engage my xperia s to an update. Any answer is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Xperia S updating....
Yeah, I know. I'm not dying to have my phone updated to ICS. May bagong update lang kasi when I connected my xperia S to my PC. Gusto ko lang malaman kung talagang maraming modifications dito sa update na ito otherwise I won't waste my time waiting for several hours just to complete the update at ang magbabago lang eh....hindi mo nga mapansin na nagbago. .
I had mine updated but through manual flashing kasi d na ako makapag hintay, but if the update for my SI No. is available ill revert it back to its previous firmware whic is GB .75, the update for me is working and its quite good...
Hi, Nhore!
To be honest, if you are going to base your decision here in the forums, then you most likely will not decide to upgrade. People who post here usually have problems with their updates. Apart from that, you will see a lot of people complaining multiple times. But there is a larger percentage of users out there who have had successful updates that don't even bother to post here. why would they need to if the updates were successful anyway?
I'm from the Phils as well and I can confirm that the update was well worth the wait. I haven't had any problems with it apart from forwarding messages to entries in my phonebook that does not have the country code. But that's easily fixable. I have tried all the new features as per the review and everything in my phone is spot on. Battery performance is at least as good as the latest GB updates. I'm sure you'll love the new keyboard options and the new Album. In any case, you actually can back up your old firmware if you do not like the update at all. So far, I find the update really worth the wait.
Cheers, mate!
No need to revert back to old firmware.
When you plug in to SUS, it will say you already have the latest software, but you will still have an option the INSTALL it, so just click on that. It will then go to the next page where it will download the "official" update from the Sony server, and that's what it will install on your phone.
