SIM Not Properly Recognized

Please help me with this Xperia Sp. I have had it for about a year but have only used WiFi . Not used with a SIM on any Mobile Network for over a year I now want to use it on a Mobile Network. But it won't connect properly. I have tried a large number of different Network SIM's It recognises most Networks that use the VODAFONE network & Tesco & ASDA Mobile or though it usually disconnects after a few minutes. It won't recognise providers using any other Networks. (I'm using PAY As You GO not-activated SIM's) The Phones Service Info Page - Sim Lock show all entries as 0 & there is no X on any entry. So It is Unlocked. I have checked many (many) IMEI check Net sites & it is NOT shown as 'Blacklisted' or 'Blocked' When I phoned 'Three' Networks support line they said it detected as "Locked to Unknown Network" @@

I have run PC Companion & done a full repair / reset.

& that the phone works properly in all othe functions ###

have you flashed this phone (flashtool or xperifirm) or use a custom ROM?

No, not got any non standard ROMs .

As I said its been through PC Companion & fully reset & updated to stock. ###

NOOOO ! it is entirly SONY stock firmware & default apps ###

Xperifirm and Flashtool use Sony's firmware. Did you purchased this phone new?

I got it from a relative a year ago. It is most certainly standard SONY firmware - never been modified -Has been through SONY Companion full Repair & Reset twice. uliwooly - with all due respect to your experience on these Forums & your many posts. May I suggest you stop using that Kurt Cobain quote - its sad & not nice. Maybe use Kurt's "“The duty of youth is to challenge corruption.” instead ###
