I know there's a thread about Factory Reset triggering automatically in another thread but Imine a a bit different.
It happened twice since updated to MM and the latest one happened yesterday, while I'm holding the phone and looking at a notification from Whatsapp on the lockscreen(the phone is still locked). The Factory Reset message sudenly pops up and the phone rstarts. The strange thing about this Factory Reset is that it wiped both my internal and external SD card, which is really frustrating.
Does anyone else face this issue?
That's rather odd, and do you have myxperia enabled? or anyone with access to your Google account? or maybe malware?
Hey ulwooly,
Missed ya & the gang!
Let me clarify.
Google Account - I only logged in go Google on my iMacs and mobiles. And any attempt to login from other devices & applications will cause Google to send me an an alert.
Malware - Unlikely, since I don't install anything from unknown source. And my phone is not rooted or unlocked yet. :smileysmileythumbsup:
MyXperia - I do have them enabled on my phones but I don't have any problem other than Z5P.
I just find it strange that this happens only after upgrading to MM. You could argue that it could also be due to the fact that I access exchange work email on my phone, but I also do that on my Z2 which I'm still using.
And the reason I post is to see if anyone else is having the same issue. If it's just me, then I could just be unlucky.
I've seen other users reporting something like this but with a different Xperia, perhaps you might want to repair the phone with PCC and check again.
@uliwooly did that after yesterday's incident. Hopefully it won't happen again.
