Whatsapp sound and notification

Hi, 

I have tried everything from restoring previous data to reseting the notification on all apps . 

I even tried unchecking the " play sound and selecting a new tone" within the whatsapp setting

The problem is " i have no sound or visual notification on the display bar" on the top of the screen for whatsapp.

Did anybody have a similiar problem with whatsapp notifications especially the sound part. 

Any help would be appreciated

this is quite odd, do you have any third party notification apps or a different home launcher or lockscreen app?

Just a lock screen app called ' chatlock'

have you tried uninstalling or disabling this Chatlock app that you're talking about and see if you're getting notifications then?
