Whatsapp sound and notification

Hi, 

I have tried everything from restoring previous data to reseting the notification on all apps . 

I even tried unchecking the " play sound and selecting a new tone" within the whatsapp setting

The problem is " i have no sound or visual notification on the display bar" on the top of the screen for whatsapp.

Did anybody have a similiar problem with whatsapp notifications especially the sound part. 

Any help would be appreciated

Settings > notifications > whatsapp > check the notifications

also, you could clear the app data or uninstall and reinstall the app.
