Hi @alcujen, welcome to the community.

We need a little more information. Does your bluetooth turn on at all? If so, do you see any nearby bluetooth devices? Other than the Z2, have you tried any other bluetooth devices? If so, what?

Actually, I tried to connect my UE boom2 speaker to listen to music from my xz premium and it didn't connect. It did connect to the z2 though which the xz premium didn't connect to either. I have no other bluetooth device. But it seems the bluetooth on my xz premium can't connect

this afternoon  i was at a friend's who had 3 devices with bluetooth activated. Only one ( on a desktop apple computer) was detected, the other two ( samsung cell and apple laptop) were ignored . There's obviously a bug on the bluetooth connection of my xz premium

I got you covered buddy. Working in a phone shop myself I come across a lot of crazy encounters with mobile tech alongside grumpy 😡 customers lol.

60% of the Sony Xperia models share the same issue with Bluetooth connectivity and specifically their default Bluetooth profile settings. Unfortunately the XZP is also one of them.😐 I really hope this helps.

Fix:

1. Enable Bluetooth (open advanced settings by holding down onto the "B"luetooth icon from the drop down menu that show "device is visible", scanning, etc)

2. Whist on that screen, use the drop down menu again and find Airplane mode.

3. Enable Airplane mode, switch the Bluetooth settings off, wait 10 seconds and switch it back on.

4. Disabled Airplane mode.

5. Restart your phone.

That's should eventually fix it for good. It worked for a lot of my customers, including me. Good luck.
