Does the Z2 have Gorilla glass and is it quite robust?
Hi there,
It's only listed as having shatter proof glass. As for being robust, any handset with such a large area of glass will always be easier to break. My advice would be to use a quality screen protector and be careful when it's in your pocket....I've seen a few meet their maker being sat on.
Hi, this has been asked before a while back when the Z2 first came out......at that time nobody was exactly sure, if it is or not it is always best to have some type of screen protecter on it (front & back).....the new style tempered glass 9h screen covers are highly rated......the new iPhone6 has a new style & supposedly scratch/unbrakeable screen....time will tell :smileysmileywink:
Gorilla Glass has been overrated in my opinion.
Too many videos of keys not scratching it making people believe it's unbreakable.
As an example.....my daughter was a tad upset that she had scratched her iPhone 4s screen....i peeled off the plastic screen protecter that i had fitted on it brand new, scratch was on the protecter...i then cleaned it up & fitted a glass (only £1.99!!!) screen cover & it looks great.....well for an iPhone that is
Result, one happy daughter.....well for 5 minutes at least :smileysmileywink:
You say A LOT
The number is probably much less than 1% with crack screen and among them is not every device with self cracking issuse:smileysmileywink:

The glass Sony use on the z2 is not robust at all. A LOT of people have reported the glass to crack by itself. One person had this happen 3 times with different Z2s and ended up switching brand. The glass is very thin and not up for the job.
This has nothing at all to do with the type of glass used.....caused by other issues unfortunetly
The Z2 had DragonTail glass, wich should be more resistant than Gorilla.
I don't think the self-cracking Z2's often happen. It must be a user fault.
And like said allready here; doesn't happen very often.
Protect your device in a good case and I think your glass will never break.
