Difficulty waking up Z1 compact

I received my Z1 compact yesterday.

I am experiencing difficulty waking the phone up after receiving notifications/alerts and e.g. when I want to turn the display on to see what the time is.

I hit the on/off button but nothing happens. I have to repeat this several times. Sometimes the phone wakes up, most times not.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this a software or hardware issue? PEBCAK? If so, please enlighten me 🙂

I would try a full factory reset of the phones software.

That sounds strange. Have you noticed if it's notifications from a certain app that's causing this?

Could you send send me a PM with the following information and i'll forward this for further investigation:

Name:

Phone nr:
E-mail:
Country:
Operator:
IMEI nr:
Build number:
Examples of notifications this has happened with:

My new Z1 Compact does exactly the same. When I want to unlock the screen, take or end a call the screen stays black. completely unresponsive.
Had a "normal" Z1 before and never encountered this problem which is strange since the hardware and software should be identical.
Think I will return the phone on Monday since I wont risk this is a hardware fault, eg. unrepairable. It is already driving me nuts after two days.

Had mine 24 hours now and not had a single issue with the screen not coming on, I only have Banking, ebay, paypal apps on the phone other than what came already installed,

Just remembered I removed McAfee and put 360 security on.

My phone didn't come with McAfee preinstalled.

I had the same problem and then the phone powered off last night at 70% battery and would not turn on. pressed the reset button and it now seems to be behaving. I am going to monitor it and if it happens again before the end of the month it will be going to CWH for an exchange.

I have the same problem. If I wait long enough, up to seven seconds, it comes on, mostly I push the on off button several times before it reacts. This happens every time I turn the screen on. Have installed all updates, disabled all power saving and turned off automatic screen brightness, with no effect. Very annoying!

My phones on off button now takes many presses before the screen shows? Sony is this a hardware failure or software failure?! Is there a fix for this? My phone is barely a week old! Why are there issues like this?
