D5803 or D5833?

Hi,

I am really in the green version of z3 Compact at the moment. But the only thing is its only available at Carphonewarehouse. Although the deal is really good there, I sont really want be bonds in contract.

Found a other one on ebay but its from Hong Kong and its a D8533 version? I know its for Asian market, but its there any significant difference between them? Eg will i get 4g ect?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Both supports LTE (4G) but there's a difference in what bands they support:

D5803 UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV), 1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20)

D5833 UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 28)
TD LTE Band 40

I recommend that you check with your operator what bands they use first.
But also note that if you buy the phone from another region you may not have any warranty in your country.

Dear Rickard,

Which version is the one most commonly sold in the UK?

Thanks

The D5803 is the one for the UK if I'm not mistaken, which is the one I have and seems to be working as it should.

As 152bobby says, D5803 is the one normally sold in the UK.

I am wondering, as I am moving to Japan from the US, is the D5803 better for US and Japan, I haven't found anything that clearly says this, as Japan has the Docomo specific SO-02G model. I will be there on an off for a couple years, so I want to make sure I can get the most out of the network in Japan, and I will be using Docomo. Thank you

Rickard are you sure that's not backwards? I have z3 D5833 in Australia and it is definately

UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV), 1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20)

and yes D5833.

Checking all this from *#*#7378423#*#* menu as well as on packaging.

How can this be? I need lte 28? My phone is unlocked too and brand new.
