Which GPS app are you using? If it is Google Maps, try clearing the data for the following apps: Google Play Services, Google Services Framework, Maps, LocationServices. Then restart the phone & test out your gps to see whether it is working or not now.

I have the problem with all the apps using the gps. So far I have tried:
Google maps -> it does not work
Sygic --> It does not work
GPS test -> I have something in "In view" section but 0 in "In use" section
I have tried also the Xperia Diagnostics. When I luanch the GPS test it hangs on "Initializing GPS stage"
I have done also what previous post suggested but no success.
What can I do?

The Xperia Z3 compact, is possible to use the GPS and to be able to fix my position without using mobile networks, right? Using only the satellites

Yes it's possible to use the GPS without data connection, but note that this can take a longer time.

Actually since the upgrade to the sofware none of my tracking apps work; yes i tried everything you suggested and yet the tracking looses signal. Runtastic doesn't track; Strava doesn't track; endomondo doesn't track; google looses signal. I have high accuracy enabled as a location method and yet it goes from fair signal to no GPS signal at all in plain view of the sky. I had no issues with the gps tracking before the upgrade but since it is absolutely terrible. Yes i have other phones with GPS abilit and they work perfectly. Any thoughts on a fix? It is very frustrating.

Did you also take a look in the FAQ topic that I mentioned in my previous post? One other thing that you could try if this behaviour appeared after a software update, is to reinstall the software via PC Companion.
Finally I took the phone to the support service. Lets say what they say
