I'm waiting for my second replacement screen to show up for my 3mo the old z2. My boss' z2 also cracked after a week of ownership. I thought I'd lucked out when I bought a premium sony z2 phone within awesome styling. Guess I've gotta go back to my plastic Samsung galaxies.

Sorry to hear this but you need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

Had my Xperia Z2 for 2 months. I had a screen protector on it. The screen broke, when I went outside for a walk. I heard a crack and took out my phone out of my jackets pocket, the screen had 1 crack, then I heard another one and saw another crack, but a bit shorter, then there was 2 more but a bit longer. The screen doesnt respond. Im really upset right now, becouse I have no backup phone..  Slightly_frowning_Face

Sorry for my English, I am french ...

I'm so happy to join you in the cracked crew ! My phone decide to broke it screen itself like many people in this topic. I can see that it's a big problem who touch everybody... I have buy a Z1 for my girlfriend for Chrismas and I hope that it couldn't break...

I precise that i'm very carefull with all my phones and I never broke any phone in my all life ! My Z2 never fall down and have screen protectors in the two sides and the official sony protection.

I have the "chance" to haven't my screen broken in the full screen but just in a corner where isn't on the touch-screen.

What about the water on my phone now ?

I'm sorry but I read only ten pages of this topic and not the 22, but does sony accept the reality and fix our phones ?  Or are we fu**ed by the compagny ?

If I don't see any commercial gesture for Sony, I swear it's over. Like many people, I would go back to Samsung's plastic.

So after 2 days of having the z2 I put it in my bag (which had just pieces paper in) and when I took it out there was a hairline crack right down the back cover. It doesn't affect the front screen at all and it isn't sharp or anything but I'm pretty sure it won't be waterproof anymore which was the main reason for choosing this make/model.
There feels like a raise in the glass, like the 2 pieces don't fit together and a piece has expanded??? anyone else had this? Maybe the glass heats when in use and expands then cracks under pressure of the metal casing. I'm sure it would have to be tight for waterproofing??? Just my opinion

Hi, sorry to hear this......for the waterproofness the glass is not 'tight' against the frame, there is a gap to allow expansion for heat/cold, i'm afraid all you can do is either take it back to your place of purchase or contact your Local Xperia Care Centre Slightly_frowning_Face

Unfortunately virgin won't replace it and will charge me for the repair as they can't be certain there wasn't accidental damage or otherwise and I'm fairly certain after sending it back to sony they will send me a charge to repair it or charge me to send it back to me. So annoying as I've now got a device that has broken and I have to keep paying for it for 24 months :@ never had a Sony product before and it's definitely put me off getting another

The only other option is getting a 3rd party repair......or find someone you know who is confident enough to do it for you, back glass is fairly cheap from various sites also there are numerous 'step by step' videos on how to do it, this will however void your Sony Warranty if you have to send it in for repair sometime in the future & they realise it has had work done, also it does put into question the waterproofness if carried out by someone else Slightly_frowning_Face

Whatever course you take...good luck :smileysmileywink:
