When you get it back try going to a service centre in person. I did and they replaced mine on the spot for free. Good luck.

If you go on the Sony UK website there should be a link to search for Sony stores. The search will also bring up sony service centres. Take it to either a Sony service centre or an authorised sony service centre. Mine was refused at a Sony service Centre but replaced by an authorised sony service centre. Don't post it to sony as they won't repair it. Good luck!

I  too have the same problem!! My nearest sony service centre said it cannot be claimed in warranty! i dont understand this, as someone has already said, this is not user problem. This is manufacturing fault, so they should replace it at zero cost! And its just been one week since i've got my xperia Z2. i had placed it on my shelf before i went to bed, morning i found the back glass cracked! The nearest sony service told me i have to pay 50% of total cost to get it replaced! This is so much irritating! Iam done with sony products! Every product i own is sony make! my lap, my home theatre, my tv, even my pendrive..!! I had Xperia ZR, same problem in that after 6 months of purchase! Now Z2! I have made my mind not to buy Sony products ever, Never!

From Canada, this happened to me this morning. I called Sony and they asked me to send the phone in and they'll inspect to see if there is physical damage or not to determine if they can fix. Only issue I have is that I purchased this from someone, brand new in box and now I have to contact them to get the proof of purchase. Going to see what I can do and hopefully have it fixed and sell it.

You shouldn't need proof of purchase. Sony can check the imei number online. That should hold all he warranty information

I called them again yesterday and they told me I can't do anything until I get that proof of purchase. Does anyone know how I can get around this? Please help, much appreciated.

It's nonsense all the information they need warranty wise is on their computer systems. If you go onto the Sony mobile website and click support then register your phone with the imei it tells you when the warrant expires. This should be enough.
