Hi,
I've had my Xperia J for a good few months now. During that time I've been using a Samsung 4GB sd card which was working fine. For some reason out of the blue (in the last few days), the phone thinks it's a blank SD card.
I've put the SD card in my old phone (non sony brand), and the SD card mounts. So there seems to be no problem with the card. Strangely though, I tried formatting it on the J and it seems it does nothing to the card, as I inserted it back into my old phone and i could still see all the files.
The J is courrently running Android 4.0.4 Build number 11.0.A.7.5. Both the Update Service and the PC Companion state that my phone is up to date. This was the state of the phones system before doing a system reinstall via the Update Service and after the reinstall.
Any help with this SD card problem will be appriciated.
Thanks
I suggest that you first of all clear data for media storage. Go to settings > apps > all > media storage > clear data. Restart phone and wait for the phone to index your data.
If the problem persists, try to format the SD card using a computer. Right click on the SD card in the file explorer and select to format it to FAT 32.
Turn the phone off and connect the SD card to the phone. Start the phone and see if the phone can see any content on the SD card.
Thanks Alex, I'll give it a go when I get the chance and post if this solves the problem.
Same problem here but those tips didn't work. My phone just came from servise and they upgraded it's software. Does this have anything to do whit it?

Do you have the possibility to try with another SD card in your phone?
Yes, I've tried putting two other sd cards in my phone and my sd card in other phone so I concluded that my phone is broken. Since this is third time on servise I've submitted a request for a new device. We'll see what happens next...
