Normally the manufacturer of a product makes what the costumers want.
Today we are allowed to buy what the manufacturer decide to make.
How is it possible that Google can do what it wants, just like Apple.
If I had known that Kitkat would change my tablet to useless (no writing to sd) than I had not choose Android.
If the manufacturer dictates how I use my tablet, I could have bought a iPad.
This is ridiculous!
On my desktop iMac I can choose to switch-off this 'protection'.
How can we work with a tablet with 16gb internal memory, and no sd-card?
I have a 32gb version with a 64gb sd-card.
And I have still a memory shortage.
Files get bigger and bigger, and Google takes away the sd-card.
Are they stupid, or is there a secret direction they wanne go?
Something they want, but not the customer!
If Android is becoming the same closed system as the one from Apple, I'am out.
I want to use my tablet the way I want!
What a mess!
And where is the big protest?
I had to ROOT my Sony Z, but have still guarantee time.
It's well known that Google wants to kill the SD card, think about it, none of the Nexus devices have a SD card port. I agree with you that Google is turning Android into iOS and iOS similar to Android.
But I just don't get it. If Android is just another Apple than there is no reason to buy an Android tablet.
What will be the next step by Google for Android 6:
Google will stop support the open internal memory.
Only the Google cloud is supported, where all the apps and data will be placed.
Owner can't change anything anymore, and Google controls everything.
And slowly Android OS will change in CHROME OS, with only browser support and control .
Only Google cloud apps are supported, and no 3th party developpers are allowed.
You don't have to think anymore, because Google will do that for you!
No normal virus, only the ones from Google.
And more ads, and more pointing in the 'right' direction (the Google Way)
And we thought Apple was the problem!
Which OS will we choose for our next tablet?
At least you have KitKat. I'm still stuck on 4.2.2. Given up hope on getting 4.4! Takes the biscuit really.
Why would you hope for 4.4.2 when you know of all the problems?
Why would you choose for changing with something that makes it worse?
I was stupid to upgrade to soon.
I wish I had 4.3 back.
Besides the ROOT I had to re-calibrate the battery, and do other repairs.
Android 6? its android L, which could be 5.0 or 4.5, no one know just yet

This is a very good question.
I guess I've learned my lesson and for work I will switch back to an Ultrabook with Linux on it. I have ordered a Zenbook UX32 last weekend and will put my xperia on ebay. If I can use my tablet only for recreation (youtube, video streaming, music streaming and surfing) I will stick with my kindle fire. It does the job at a much cheaper price.

Because I don't like being out of date when it comes to things like this. I already have to put up with the fact the Tablet Z 2 came out shortly after me getting the Tablet Z. My phone has Kitkat, and my Tablet is stuck on a really old firmware, so I would like the update so I can at least rejoin the year 2014.
Would you like to buy the newest car, if you knew that the trunk was welded closed not ever to open again?
This all for security reasons?
And you are not allowed to undo the welding for losing the guarantee on your brandnew car.
Or becouse they want you to buy only on the internet and not to transport anything yourselve?
You would not, still Google can do as it wishes.
Because e there the biggest of all!
And Sony?
It"s all quiet over there.
