PC Companion Issues

I just go a Z2 a few days ago, and today, I downloaded to PC Companion, tried to connect the phone-- and nothing happened. 

Computer made the sound it does when something is connected via USB, but it did not appear in the devices in the file explorer and the phone did not start charging either. 

The Z2 will only charge or properly connect to the PC when it turned off, but that doesn't really help me with PC Companion.

No matter what I do, I can't connect it to the PC Companion, I tried to connect it with another cable, didn't work either, same issues, I tried to connect it via wi-fi, didn't work. I tried to connect it via Bluetooth, didn't work.

I've shut off the phone, re-installed PC Companion, and it still doesn't not work.

I am honestly getting desperate, I just want the phone to connect. Please help.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Have you tried connecting this phone to another PC just to rule out any issues with the phone itself?

Having exactly the same issues, I can tether the laptpo, use bluetook with my phone and wifi server sharing, and yet I am unable to directly connect my Z2 with a USB cable.

I just don't understand what is happening- which also means I have a software update which it needs a PC, that I can do nothing with.

Please help !
