Wireless connection help

Hi,

I would like to set up a wireless connection on my laptop, using my desktops broadband connection.

My laptop is a Vaio PCG-K215M, which does not have a wireless card installed.

Can anyone recommend the best way to set up this wireless connection? If investing in a wireless card is the best option, which card would you recommend, and is it easy to install (instructions for installation would be greatly appreciated!).

If a wireless router with USB connector would be a better way to go, can anyone recommend a router model that they know will work with my particular laptop?

Sorry to ask so many questions. Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Just one question first - how is your Desktop connected to Broadband?

The usual way is to connect your Desktop via an Ethernet cable to an ASDL Wireless Modem Router and to put a wireless PCMCIA card in your Laptop.

Hi Rob,

The type of router that you choose depends on wether you have a BT telephone line or cable..

If you have cable you only need a wireless broadband router similar to this but if you have a BT telephone line you will need an wireless ADSL modem router similar to this
