VGN-NS20E - WEBCAM DOES NOT WORK ON MSN LIVE MESSENGER

Hi there, sorry if this has already been a thread.

Bascially, I've not had my laptop for long, and when I went to talk to friends on my Windows Live Messenger, I tried to set up my webcam and it wouldn't work because other programs were using it, when nothing else was on. I turned on the Arcsoft program that comes with the laptop and that worked fine, but still nothing would work on my MSN. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

Hi ryan_hm,

welcome to Club VAIO..

The camera problem your having can be caused by the McAfee Internet Security SiteAdvisor..

To fix this update SiteAdvisor to versions 2.9.256+ and 2.8.306+ use the following link for instructions: How do I update my McAfee products?

Or

If the update doesn't resolve the problem at the moment then use the following link: Configuring SiteAdvisor to stop monitoring Live Messenger

Hi, I tried doing this. I changed the programming and then tried to save the newly-edited copy, however, when I tried doing this, every time I tried to save it, it kept saying it could not create the file, and then make sure the path and file name are correct, what should I do? Thanks!

Try saving it to the desktop (Save As...)with the file name sasets.ini (then close the original). Then drag and drop, or copy and paste, the file from the desktop into the original folder.
