Memory question

I have a PCV-RS122
I'm interested in upgrading memory from the srtandard 256Mb DDR to the max 1024 (for some video editing). It might sound silly but do I have to buy two 512MB modules or is there any hardware available so that I don't have to throw ot the existing 256Mb module?

Thanks, Ben ?:

Hi Ben

You'd have to buy 2 x 512MB sticks. You could always sell the 256MB stick once everything is OK with the 1024MB you have installed. A gigabyte of ram sounds very good

Places like eBay should sell it for you.
As for buying memory, I suggest Crutial.

Glad all is clear,

but do desktops only have two memory slots these days?

I can understand notebooks only having two slots.

William,

Some have 4, but the average is 2.
