Camera Driver for VGN-FW11M

Hey i have been looking everywhere for the driver for the motion eye camera in the Vaio VGN-FW11m. I cannot find it and i have been looking for several days on many sites and places.

I originally lost my harddrive due to a problem with it and had it replaced by my uncle (he works & repairs laptops and pcs for living)

I have installed all of the avaliable drivers of the site for my model but i cant find the Camera one anywhere. i use the camera alot to talk to family via skype. Please help me with the driver if possible.

Hi Whiteyy40k and welcome to the forum.

As far as I am aware this is a native Windows driver and is located at C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usbvideo.sys.

Is Sony Visual Communications Camera showing up in Device Manager, if so what is the reported status, or do you have an unknown device?

The sony camera is showing up itself. but the driver is not installed it has the yellow exclamation point next to it.

The problem reads as: "The device was not configured correctly (Code 1). The Required section was not found in the INF."

Try updating/installing the driver (right click the device and select update driver software)and then browse to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers.

If that doesn’t work then point the install at C:\Windows\inf.

Alternatively select ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’ and click next.
Then click ‘Have Disk...’ Browse to C:\Windows\inf.
Select usbvideo.inf and click open.
Click OK on the ‘Install from Disk’ window and the click next on the Update driver software window.

This will hopefully install the correct driver.
