KDL-37EX403 audio 'skips' when any HDTV channel selected

My 18 month old Bravia is fine when a blu ray disc is played but with any HD tv channel selected, the audio hesitates or skips randomly.  The problem was not resolved by resetting to factory settings and retuning.  Any suggestions?  I suspect it's going to be a repair under warranty.  By the way, contrary to other discussions, the quality of the audio is otherwise very good.
