Failing pixel/ghosting? KDL-50W829b

Hi

My tv started displaying what I can only describe as intermittent pixel fail/ghosting. I’m not entirely sure how to describe it better than that. It effects only the bottom quarter of the screen with a perfect straight line across the width, which isn’t discoloured but more like an embossed line. It flashes up every 4 seconds and the section below it will ghost whatever was on the screen and fade away. Then for 3 seconds everything is fine, picture is perfect and then it happens again.

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you go about getting it fixed? My tv is 3 years old but out of warranty, I’m wondering if it’s fixable at decent price or should I be looking into getting a new tv.
