my sony bravia smart tv kdl-40r550c dont make the newest update directly from conecting the tv to internet...my corent software version is 8.587-100-1.200-01 and i check online that sony have louch new software 8.588 from 2 moths.why doesnt apear this new software update when i go to software dowload(network) it tells me that no newer version of the system software was found?hope u help me thank you

Can you try downloading the update using a USB storage device, and let me know how you get on?

My home button disappeared and did not display on my KD 49X8305C after the last software version update. Thankfully Sony responded very quickly to my email and I followed there instructions, I now have my home button facility restored.
Please follow these instructios if you have a similiar problem;

This is a customer to customer community so don't expect any answers direct from Sony.
From what I can gather you have two choices 1) perform a manual update using a USB stick or 2) wait for the internet stream to be updated which could take a few more months. To get an estimate of when that will happen you need to contact your regional support centre.
