You have to be more specific

OK the battery gets to 90% and then the phone shuts off, You have to manually switch it back on and wait for it to start up. The phone is only used for calls and texts, no internet usage at all!!!  It has to be charged 3 times a day, is this a software, hardware issue or is the phone broke?

I have the same problem. I think.

My problem is very weird.

Phone turns off by itself as the title says, but at random intervals. It did this three times until now. I have the phone for almost 10 days. I did a "Reset Factory settings" but this didn't fix the problem.

Now I did a SUS re-flashing an I will keep watching it. I think it is recommended during the "monitoring" of the phone for similar fault behavior to keep it "clean" from any applications. I will not install anything.

I hope SUS fixed the problem, because I really don't want to involve in "warranty situation".

P.S: Of course I will update. I think one week of observation is enough.

SUS didn't help to solve the problem. Unfortunately.  I re-flashed twice with SUS, but no.

Now I'm trying something else that Sony Service told me, when I communicated today with them. Of course I will update soon.

One week of observation I think is enough.

OK. It seems that things going extemely well (related to this secific problem-behavior). But I want to observe it a few days more.

Now, the explanation could be:

Old SIM card - Incompatible !

Probably the Xperia L is incompatible with old SIM cards. I can say that because:

1) Sony Service guy told me (from phone) to test the phone with a newer SIM (and I already testing it for 4-5 days now and it seems good)

2) I discovered a hidden menu (phone call) and from there with the NEW SIM I can reproduce the same behavior. Which behavior ? The phone closes and it won't be open again, it opens only if I remove and reinsert the battery. That was exactly the same behavior with the OLD SIM.

How I reproduced it with NEW SIM ?

From hidden menu ( *#*#4636#*#*) I went on mobile information (first) then I saw WCDMA preferred as default in network type. I tried to change in GSM only, and the phone went down. Until I removed and reinserted the battery I couldn't turn it on again.

So, I can think that with the OLD SIM, something like this happened at random intervals without my intervention of course.

I wish and I hope that this was the actual problem and now (with the NEW SIM) get resolved. But as I said first, I want to observe it a few days more.
