Upscale of component to HDMI, can resolution be controlled?

I have a problem with upscale of the Wii, as the amp (STR-DH820) can upscale component to HDMI to the telly, the Wii picture never fits the screen when going via HDMI.

It's always one inch less than the screen size all round the picture, when it upscales Component to HDMI out. Any ideas, is there a resolution option - I've not seen it yet

Also, my old STR-DH800 had night mode, bit sad this amp doesn't have the same
