Sync Volume Display

Maybe someone on here can help me out on a question. I have my BRAVIA and a STR DH810 amp and all the sound going through the amp via ARC, but the figure displayed as the volume level is different on the AMP and the TV, so if the TV is saying '10' the amp mght say '16' or something..

Is there a way to sync these so that they display the same figure - its more of an irritation than anything else, but its a bit odd that they don't report the same number?

Thanks

Hi,

not sure what your doing there but if your running the amp on the tv the only volume that matters is the amp, your tv should not be displaying any sound ie the volume on the tv should be down to zero because surely you would hear it echoing. you cannot just mute it as this leaves the symbol on the screen, better to turn volume to zero on tv then adjust sound on the amp.

i dont have ARC as my amp  (Sony str-db830) does not support it so use a digital optical cable from the tv to the amp

Ah yes, I hadn't turned the speakers off and I thought it was simply relaying the amp volume level. All fixed..

Thanks
