Okay, this is a pretty weird one.
I have a Bravia 40EX503 and BDP-S370 connected directly (wired) back to a Virginmedia branded Netgear Wireless cablemodem/router.
If I switch on the BDP-S370, only it can access the internet, and all connected wireless devices first lose access to the internet, and then eventually the wireless disappears too.
Switching the Blu-ray off causes everything else to spring back into life.
The Wired settings on the player are set to auto, and everything checks out as being correct.
I have of course googled this, but only one hit reveals an identical problem but with a Linksys router. The suggestion regarding changing MTUs cannot be applied in my case as the router fireware is sufficiently locked to stop those kinds of modifications. There was no post on that particular thread to state whether the suggestion made any difference in any case.
Any suggestions?
Hello,
I think in such a case there is IP conflict over the network . This is why when you switch ON a device the other one lost its conductivity to the network
I suggest you to assign a static IP address for each device connected . go to the device menu > delete the current network setting > re-search the network using MANUAL configuration instead of AUTO . assign static ip under the same subnet.
Hope this helpful.
Hi,
i have the same router and a BDP-S570 player set up wirelessly and it works perfectly, may i suggest that you re set the player back to default remove the ethernet cable and set it up again wirelessly.
