SVR-HDT1000 recording padding

Thinking of buying this, can you set it to automatically pad out the recording timer so as to catch early and late running programmes in full? So a programme due to run from 2000-2100 is recorded say from 1955-2105 with a five minute padding set, I have heard that it doesn't have the facility which I find baffling.

Even my cheap TUTV box has this option...

So owners can you do this or not?

I had frustrations with ends of programs missing with previous equipment due to variations in start times (particularly BBC2 & 4 due to numerous promos), however since I purchased the HDT1000 this problem has gone because I think that it recognises the true start of the program and records accordingly.

It's meant to adjust automatically but it seems that some channels don't always have their EPG data exactly in sync with the actual time the program starts/finishes so you can still miss a bit.
