Hi Guys,
i'm in a bit of a dither, its taken me almost a year to set this up again and i cannot seem to get the sub to work (M70AS) everything is connected but the Amp (STR-DB830) is saying "not in use" when i press sub button 😕 even running the THX optimiser disc in sound test there's nothing from the sub and its done my head in now, any idea's i should add that the LFE graph on the amp shows its out putting but there's just no sound.
Hey Bravia
Long time no see - Hope you are going well anyhow.
In regards to your problem, I dont suppose you set your speakers to Large by any chance? Or the crossover frequency too high? Failing that, any chance of connecting another sub to test (in case sub has died)?
Just thowing a couple of ideas
Cheers
yeah still alive and kicking (just!) yeah, tried everything now and its really frustrating, its got me stumped that the Amp is saying that the sub is not in use when clearly it is!, maybe its me getting too old for this s***! lol
Unfortunately I got nothing either. Maybe another forum member reading this has an idea.
As you can see, there have been quite a few changes to the forum since it moved over to the lithium, with more changes next year.
You know when you are too old for this - is when you have neighbours complaining at you for the loud noise, and you answer with "what noise" Maybe its your amp thats hard of hearing ?
Maybe
not sure i like this new look, i was much happier with the way it was!.
i'll worry about the neighbours (one side anyway) when it comes to it, and nah its me thats hard of hearing mate thats why i got the Amp!
anyway got some sound comming out now, maybe i'll chuck on summat worthy and see if i can get it right, the dvd of star wars just dont cut it. lol
Hi Catmambo,
thanks, and its ok, struggling at first as i was so used to the old layout.
sorted the sub woofer, it was soarce material i was using, seems fine at the moment just got to twiddle with it a little more, i don't want the neighbours to think there's an earthquake in progress!:smileyhappy:
I cannot even remember the old layout now
Question though: Do you still have your HX923 TV? If so, would you mind testing the BBC iPlayer app, in relation to this thread? Most appreciated

no mate the HX923 (sadly) started dropping pixels over a year ago so Sony swapped it out for the HX853 I know this was an award winner but there was so many features the 923 had this does not, such a shame, i really got hyped up for almost a year waiting for that flagship, its build quality was second to none despite the panel, i feel that this 853 looks like a plastic model kit by comparison, had i held out for another year i could have had a better model but hey, its done now. however back to your question cant help you there and wonder why you ask.
Thanks anyhow
Thats the problem with technology - if you keep waiting for next years (whether its more features or reduction in price....) you will never end up buying anything. I love my NX723, as I love the gorilla glass design, but would have loved Netflix support on the models a year later. But also I have that crease, not too bad though, but its their !
