I have two questions:
1. Can the Sony SMP-N100 network media player stream movies in AVI format from a hard disk drive attached directly to the main wifi router via Readyshare netgear technology? (http://www.netgear.com/landing/en-us/readyshare.aspx)
2. Can the Sony SMP-N100 network media player stream shows from RTE Player in Ireland (flash dependant, www.rte.ie/player) ?
Thank you,
Anthony.

Hi,
well according to the specs for your SMP-N100 yes you can, also cant see why you shouldent be able to conect the hdd straight to your SNP-N100 and play directly from that.
as for your second question i'll pass.
Thanks...keeping the HDD on the WiFi router means I can access & manage the media library from any laptop / device, and simultaneously play the media. Otherwise the HDD would need to be moved, I think?
Let me ask a different way - if the HDD is connected to the media player (and not the router), can I manage the media on the HDD through the media player?
Thanks,
Anthony.
understood, best leave it at that then if its suiting your needs, since its on your network i believe its just a question of getting it paired wth your SMP-N100 so you can share the files with it.
In answer to 2. Not yet - although it has support for TV3 though.. RTE are a little slower in joining the party
Thanks
Thanks guys.
