Bravia Internet Video recording to Sony HDD

Having recently purchased a Bravia TV with iPlayer functionality and a Sony HDD unit, I have attempted recording Internet Video without success.  I have tested using both SCART and HDMI, but get "CAN'T REC" on HDD display and "No signal" on the screen.  Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem or had any success with similar attempts?

No you can't record any of the BRAVIA Internet Video streams for copyright reasons unfortunately, in the same way you cannot record iPlayer on the PC/Wii/PS3 etc etc.

What can be recorded with Sony Bravia then? I'm using virgin box HD and it says I can only record digital broadcast. What does it means?

What's the point having the built in recorder if I can't record anything so far?

You can only record digital broadcast channels .

Do you know why all the branded internet TVs does not have VIDEO OUT connector !! it is copyrights issue

Thanks for answering that. I just want to know, which channel is categorized as digital broadcast? I only connected to the Virgin box as the antenna is not working in my flat.
