BDP S570 not connecting to Laptop

I have had my 570 for over a year and had no trouble with connecting to the internet, my Acer laptop and my PC. I have just aquired a new laptop with Windows 7 Professional installed. When I try to connect it to the 570 it 'sees' the laptop as well as the other devices but I get the message Failed. It still connects to my otherr two machines and a NAS drive connected to my Netgear router. All three computers on my wireless network are able to access each other  When I use the 'diagnose server connections' the 570 sees the new laptop but the connection failed. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

have you set up your homegroup in control panel=network and internet=choose homegroup and sharing, tick the relevant boxes in library.

in the cross media bar (XMB) on the player you should see windows media player, under photo, music and video, all these should now work.

i have pro on my laptop and as far as i can remember thats what i did!
