I've had my Sony for about 4 months now...overall it's not too bad, a few gripes but I've come to just accept them but I have a few queries people here might have actual answers to.
First up, although I know I can disable catch up TV so the default becomes freeview but, is there any way to switch between them rather than disabling using the remote and google?
When I'm watching freeview, ITV HD is the incorrect region when it comes to the news, even though I have ITV HD in my region...is there a fix?
Lastly, if switch to freeview using ask google (as my default is catch up), it always reverts to channel 100...any way to set this to a different default?
Thanks
YouView is now presented, on post-2020 sets, as an app called ‘Catchup and Live TV’.
So it should be possible just to go to your Apps and exit from it.
To go back in, just call up the Apps again, and choose Catchup and Live TV.
Most documentation on the web refers to the pre-2020 sets where exiting and re entering YouView was a much bigger deal, especially if you didn’t realise that the retuning step described in all the procedures isn’t at all necessary.
No idea on the other two questions, I’m afraid, but you should get the right ITV HD in YouView if you set up the itv Hub or itvX with your correct postcode.
Though I get issues as to whether I am in the South or the Southwest, as both areas claim to serve my location 😢

Your ITV Region is decided by the transmitter that your aerial is pointing at. Also I believe that there has been some cost savings in the ITV world by consolidating some regions.

Yea as they said you can easily access it and switch from if using ''Live TV & Catch up''.
Regarding the region, I think you can choose it either when you enable live TV and catch up, or while you're tuning the channels, better check both.
