Is all XZP hv green tint ?
It must be the display color gamut and contrats settings, i have mine on professional mode. The standard mode does look slightly greenish/blue.
Yes, the white balance is not very good or I guess it's not to the liking of some, including myself, which is probably why they added the option of changing it. Try these settings, which I'm using:
Red: 100
Green: 0
Blue: 65
Let me know if that works well for you as well. By the way, each display mode resets to 0,0,0, so change it for each display mode (the phone remembers the setting for each display mode, so you could have a different white balance for each mode - a really nice touch by Sony).
Hi @Ramto_8,
Can you provide a screenshot of the display in Standard Mode where is noticeable the greenish tint and a screenshot in Professional Mode to see the difference, please?
Thanks!
Hi @LogicAnalyzer,
Yes, the XZP has a bad white balance visible either directly side by side with calibrated display and in color chart risulting from analysis.
Plus, on Youtube, the greenish tint on whites is easily visible on comparison side by side with Samsung S8 and iPhone 7 Plus.
It is bad that Sony always provides devices with bad white balance.

Hello Alessio,
I tried taking a screenshot but unfortunately it does not capture the image with the color settings. Its just the image generated before displaying it on the screen.
And also i don't have another camera with me to take a picture of the phone's screen... my old Z2's camera is broken.
When you are in the professional mode, the display has a slight warmer hue, on standard mode it is slightly the cooler side. But i notice the difference only when i change it in the settings. In general use its difficult to tell the difference! Like you said you need to put it side by side with another phone to see the difference.
I just noticed when comparing to my old Z2, this one has a much much better calibration !
Hello Ramto_8,
No problem! It was more useful a screenshot from other phone of the two different display mode to know the difference in white balance.
I also had a Z2, the best display calibration of all Sony's devices. However, if through your friend's phone you could post here some screenshots, it will be very useful for all that consider to buy the XZP! :smileysmileythumbsup:

Hello again Alessio,
Got my brother's ipad and took a pic of my XZP vs Z2
As you can see, the Z2 has a better white balance. I do remember, however, that at the begining when i just got my Z2 it did have a similar issue when compared to my original Z ! I read online something about the glue which they used on the screen that need to some time and heat to fully dissapear. Lets hope its the same case here !
Hello again Ramto_8!
You are GREAT and great is your gentle answer and comparison! I tahnk you so much about, very very gentle!
Yes, the bad white balance is noticeable, to much to think a not corrected display calibration. As you most wisely suggest, it quite sure depends from a glue used for the screen. Also iPhones had the same problems with this yellowish tint on the screen in first uses and Apple answered as you suggested.
However, I have got a Z2 also, great phone with great display calibration!
If you have time, can you tell us here if the yellowish tint disappears in the next days with normal use? This information will be most useful to every users, like me, interested in XZP.
Thanks again for your patience and comparison, very GREAT!:smileysmileythumbsup:
Will take another picture after a few weeks but i think that might take a while before the glue effect (if any) fades away. I have only been using the phone for 1 week and am not a heavy user.
