Does anybody else experience this loose wobble after sticking the usb in the bottom of the phone?! It goes all the way in and the connection is solid BUT it jerks around at least 3 mm in all directions!
The phone is brand new and the USB is Sony original.
When it wiggles around it makes all sorts of mechanical creaking noises, not the electric sizzling we all fear.
It charges normally and is rather hard to unplug it BUT it moves around if I touch it as if there is no tomorrow!!
Anybody else?!

Thank you!
You know what I have just done and fortunately I completely SOLVED the problem? A minute ago I decided to take a chance and I filed a mm from the top end of the cable, using a Victorinox multi tool.
Now the wiggle is gone and the USB fells much, much more solidly inserted. Hurray!!

I'm not sure, to be honest, your description sounds like stuff is cracking inside that socket with all the noise. But I'm sure that Type-C microUSB feels looser than normal microUSB and it might move tiny bits when forced to.
