Ok, I agree with you. I'm fan of Sony too since years and I do not think about giving up. But I think, a developed product or feature should not be missing from previous ones.
The problem with samsung arises from experiences in the past (TV, monitor, mobile phones, hard disks and no support etc.)

I have C5 Ultra Dual which havn't IP68, but have radio built-in, but i don't used it normal until now from buy smartphone day, coz i don't need it - throw away my smartphone too? 
IP68 is good, but if you smart use your smartphone, safe it from any disasters i think it's not big problem that this protection is missing 
Radio - it's not my opinion primary feature which must be in smartphone, coz you can add in smartphone any tracks which you want, also there are a lot of apps like Deezer, Spotify, Soundcloud, Soundhood and ect in which you can listen music as on radio

If you listen FM radio i think it working only in certain location, so if you changing location - you must re-scan radio stations again to find any radio station which working in certain location, for example if you are in Germany you can listen just radion station which is in Germany for example Berlin, so when you travelling to other country you need scan again list of radion station and the same do everytime when you changing location It's not comfortable, my opinion, so i think much better is to add music track in SD card and don't have problem with scan connection FM radion in every location neither to re-scan radio station list overn and over again when you changing location But this is just my opinion, maybe you like to play like this everytime... I after some time like this choice Music (walkman in past) player and i can listen now music which i like without any interference and what i like

All Samsung devices aren't bad maybe, but i saw twice lists of most corruptible smartphones models and most of it was from Samsung, in these lists i didn't saw any Sony models mentioned. Samsung models was mentioned almost all popular like S6 (S6+), S7 (if i'm not wrong, i can't remember all them) and some chineses models. By the way in one my country mobile service siad that Samsung models are terrible, motherboard is soldered like on hair, i mean a little bit, so biggest drop and they bounce and need to bring to service to solder again About Sony he didn't siad nothing, but when i asked about models which better to buy he mentioned iPhone. But i know from 90's Sony is very good quality is TV, smartphone, headphones and ect. Sony always made qualitatively devices. Look at history of Samsung most theirs devices blowed up... Why they decided to buy Sony's batteries? Why they buying sensors from Sony I think Samsung smartphones aren't good quality as Sony, but this is just my opinion, i can be and wrong

I just wanted to say that without radio smartphone did not became metal/plastic peace, you can find many apps which have the same features or much more neither build-in radio app, so enjoy your smartphone and look in everything much more positive
XZ Premium i think is one of the best smartphone in the smartphone market right now with or without radio and keep in mind that a lot of users wanted this model and that you are lucky which can have it
By the way i found for you Sony's radio app in one website, you can try to install it, maybe will works for you
