Sony Xperia XZ and NC headphones

I just got my new Xperia XZ and I'm quite flattered about it.
Its a great phone, but unfortunately, I already encountered a huge problem: My headset doesn't properly connect.

It connects for like 3 seconds, before it disconnects again without me plugging it out again.

I have a pair of urbeats by dr dre headphones.

Is there any fix for that?

After doing this and turning on Smart Connect I made it exactly as you proposed including clear the cashe and remove the data. Restart and update. No improvement 😞

Yes I tried that too. It was the first thing I tried since it's a new option in XZ compared to Z2

I fixed it by using the app soundabout...it forces the phone to play music via the headphone port...

Its a bit a pain  since u have to change the settings everytime before u can listen for examples via the phone speakers, but hey, in the end it works...

Installed the app, still same problem.. This must be SW issue, nothing else.

You also have to select wired headphones for media audio in the app, only installing it will do nothing ofc...

I am having the same issues with Marshall major fx headphones.  The headphone works fine with other devices and also with my previous z3+.  Now it disconnects every 5 seconds on my Xz.  Half the reason I bought this phone is for superior audio qualify.  

Other Sony headphones tested work,  including my noise cancelling pair and mdr b950t

However it is clearly a software issue because using soundabout app I can get the headphones to work for a whole song until they disconnect.
