Problem in incoming calls

Hi, recently just after receiving a call my xz came up with some option for call alerts or priority or something, unfortunately I was distracted and just pressed yes before really reading it. Since then when ever a incoming call comes in the phone rings but doesn't come up on the lock screen or normal screen, the only way to answer the call is to unlock the phone and pull down the notification bar to answer it. Any ideas? Thanks

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about that, what I would suggest first is resetting the app preferences on your device.

Go to settings > apps > three vertical dots in the top right corner > reset app preferences 

Once you have done this, get someone to give you a call and see if it resolves the problem.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried this and still calls do not overwrite whatever is on the screen, I have to pull down notifications screen to access call and answer and this is usually after taking phone out of my pocket, turn screen on and then entering screen password. So frustrating as I know it's my own fault when I accepted a option that popped up after a call saying something about calls not overriding screen???. Really don't want to do a factory reset.
