My telephone turns Black when calling
Hi @Tom60, welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about this.
Most of the time the issue you have described is caused by screen protectors and/or cases interfering with the Ear Proximity Sensor, which detects when your phone is against your ear and turns off the screen.
Can you please confirm if you have a screen protector or case on your phone, and if so, remove them and test it again?
You can also test the Ear Proximity Sensor in Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Test > Ear Proximity Sensor.
thanks for your reply, I am wearing a screen protector, but this does not seem to be the problem. the test in "about the telephone" of the nearby ear-monitor says OK..!
@Tom60, it is you who decides whether the test passed or failed. With the ear proximity test, does the phone vibrate immediately or only when you cover the sensor?
The problem is not the proximity sensor but the screen protector. Because your screen protector could be misplaced, the proximity sensor is 'tricked' into thinking that something's there.
my phone vibrates immediately at the ear proximity test, seems to be ok..
It shouldn't vibrate immediately, it should only vibrate when you cover it with your hand. I recommend you remove the screen protector as a test.
got the same problem...
and guess what, no screen protection...
test ear proximity sensor, vibrates even when the phone is three meters far from me...
all this started with last android update.
