Microphone not working during internet calls

I use mainly Messenger and Viber for free internet calls.

The other party can be heard fine, but cannot hear me, on both apps.

Also, on both apps, if a brief sound message is recorded, via their respective interface, it is recorded just fine.

I tried and cleared all data from the apps.

I tried with the built-in mic, open speaker mode and bluetooth headset, but still nothing.

Both of the apps installed are of the latest version. 

I would have contacted the developers, but it seems that this is a device issue.

No problem whatsoever with my Xperia Z2

you should contact app developers anyway, as it might be some device-specific bug that needs solving on their end. some time ago Viber wouldn't launch on XZP while working fine on other phones, and a Viber update fixed it.
