i miss stamina mode

i don't know why you got rid of it, my z5 premium just dies over night when i leave it with 20% charge, like 6+ hours ago i left my z3 on 4% charge expecting it to be dead now being certain that it's dead, it's at  1% now and i checked like 20-30 min ago and it's not dead yet, it has been sitting on 1% battery for like 30 min now, no new sony phone has that good of a battery life in standby and i don't know why, why did you kill off this? my z2 tablet manages to stay turned on for weeks on end to the point where i just forget it and then find it again to use it, none of my new sony devices do this and i bet it's the same with the xz premium, my z3 also manages to charge up to like 40% in like 15 min, no new sony device does any of this, my z5 premium is the complete opposite i hate that phone because of it's horrible battery life, i just leave it and expect it to be dead the next morning, not to mention how painfully slow it is to charge, i actually bought a z2 some time ago and that one ran for over a month on standby.

so why did this change?

oh and at the time of finishing this text my z3 is still running on the 1% so right now it has been running for over 30 min on 1% (10 more min and i heard it vibrate from a notification it just got IT IS STILL running)

my z3 is currently still on it has not died yet, my z5 premium would have died a long time ago, and reading about the xz premium having 105 hour standby i am guessing it's the same as the z5 premium.

it has not died yet why are older devices like this?

in Android Marshmallow, Google introduced a battery saving feature called Doze. they improved the way it works in Android Nougat. not only does Doze do pretty much what Sony's Stamina Mode used to do on Android Lollipop and before, but Google has also forbidden the manufacturers to change Doze's settings in any way. that's why Stamina Mode got crippled on Sony's Android Marshmallow (it became pretty much a customizable low battery mode), and the name was dropped on Nougat, I believe. your phone is still doing the battery saving thing that older phones used to do when Stamina Mode was active.

so sony phones got a downgrade and theres no way to get the same experience as the past because google won't allow it?

@ZZCOOL

You shouldn't see it as a downgrade.

@ZZCOOL

wait wait, I have multiple Xperias and I have never seen a smartphone last a month

do the following

1) charge the phone 100% go to settings > battery > tap on the battery icon > take a screenshot

first thing in the morning settings > battery > tap on the battery icon > take screenshots of the graph and list of apps

post them here

2) Do the same with your Z2

@ZZCOOL

I don't see any proof of your battery life claim, unless you can post a screenshot of that, I simply can't believe it, I will ask someone that has a Z2 to test it, but if you hardly use the phone or not at all, with all radios off, the phone could last but that will be paperweight

i am referring to in standby with the screen off, as in with stamina mode activated.
