Do not disturb automatically turns on when earphones are plugged in

Hi everyone, 

It's been almost a week since i encountered this problem wherein, everytime i use my earphones the do not disturn mode automatically turns on, thus i am encapable of listening trough the earphones (call and media)  The normal thing to do is to just to turn of the mode, but it keeps on coming back. I have not encountered this until recently, i've tried it in safe mode and it still happens..

Yes, i tried it on safe mode, then the moment i plugged in my earphones the "ring and notification volume" plus the "media volume" automatically switched to silent... I pressed the volume up key, but it keeps on going back to silent

Settings > apps > menu > reset app preferences > restart the phone > check again.

back in the days, we used to have an app/setting "SmartConnect" that will do something like this but I'm trying to remember if there's something like that with the XZ

Check under 

settings > sound > do not disturb > automatic rules > do you have anything enabled?

Yeah, that was my first guess when i got to this situation.  i also have the xperia z1 and i also had some trouble with  it's earphone but i managed to solve  it.  so i quickly looked for the smart connect app hoping that it would be the same thing but to no avail since xperia xz does not have smart connect

Nope, settings > sound > do not disturb > automatic rules > add rule.. And that is it
