Xperia Z3 bent

So I just got my xperia z3 2 days back. And just yesterday someone accidentally sat on it (my bad for putting it on a spot where ppl sit). Though he didn't even sat properly yet before he realized there was a phone there. My xperia was bent due to that I guess. So any suggestions for what am I to do now? Btw at the moment my xperia is working just fine, I was wondering if the bending would eventually cause any problems later. Anyone? Tq.

I am gutted. I love my new Z3 since my move from iPhone.

I use a casemate tough case to protect my handset.

I'm too old to wear skinny jeans and I never carry my phone in my back pocket, there's been no misuse, no drops or accidents, yet my phone has mysteriously developed a bend down one side.

I've heard a little about overheating being a potential cause and I did experience my phone overheating whilst using the camera app on holiday but never noticed any warping until my daughter pointed it out to me (I thought she was winding me up!).

I'm arranging to have the handset shipped to Sony for evaluation but I'm worried about how they'll view this re the warranty.

Anyone else heard of this issue? Any advice would be welcome also.

Looks like a back pocket and sit down bend to me but  you need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

Not buying it.
Nope, even the ibend 6 needed a stupid amount of force to bend like that. But you think it did that from overheating?
A casemate tough would not have been able to restrain a bend that bad and it would have been noticed.

Thanks for your cynicism viridis. I can assure you I NEVER place my phone in my back pocket, so that is definitely not the answer.

I mention the overheating possibility only as a result of seeing another post on another website, I also think that this seems an unlikely cause but I'm genuinely stumped as to what's happened here.

You may see this reply under a different name, this forum wouldn't let me back in under my original nickname and I had to use another.

Hi, depending on how bad it is you could try to get it back to shape with for instance laying heavy books etc to get a gradual force on it BUT the frame may be too out of shape, flaps may not sit properly causing waterproof problems also there may already be stress on the glass screen resulting in cracks 'mysteriously' appearing later...........good luck :smileysmileywink:

Thanks dandy63 🙂 Actually I did try straightening it using bare hands. And yeah as expected it didn't actually get back to its original shape, but I believe it got better. Didn't try wt books yet though. Thank youuuu.

Hi, yes....try leaving it overnight but just be careful of the screen....a friend of mine has an iPad Mini that is badly bent due to the way he holds it whilst gaming
