While I've enjoyed my Xperia Mini for several years now, it's exhibiting some problems. Specifically, the compass and GPS are not working properly. The compass doesn't show the correct heading, and the GPS reception is, for some reason, nowhere near as good as it was a year ago.
Since these problems persist after the known calibration procedures for these sensors, and have survived multiple full system software re-installations, I suspect they're largely hardware problems.
Is there any other sort of very deep hardware reset that might help?
Is there anything Sony Service could do? I mean, could they actually replace these parts or otherwise service the hardware?
uliwooly, I realize that, but what I'm trying to find out is what support could possibly do hardware-wise. Is it remotely feasible that the phone could be repaired in some way, or do they have some replacement stock they could offer me? (Obviously I'm far, far out of the warranty period, and I don't really want any other model, I like this one.)
It's also clear that if I contact support I'm going to have to go through all the boilerplate "reinstall the system software" business for them even though I've already done that several times, so if that's all they're going to offer me there's no point in trying.
