Transfer data to sd card interrupted

Hi, I'm having what appears to be a common problem where I'm trying to transfer data to my sd card but it keeps being interrupted. Some online help advises "In the folder storage/sdcard0/DCIM/Camera there was one picture" and to delete the picture which then allows the transfer to continue. I've tried this but the camera folder is empty. I have managed to transfer the videos and music from internal storage to sd card without any problems but as soon as I try to transfer the rest of the photos, it interrupts at 990 images remaining and just will not transfer the rest. Please can someone help me? There is still PLENTY of space left on the sd card so I don't see what the problem is. Thank you for

if it isnt too much bother, try to reformat the sd card first, in device.

then try to sort thru the files you are trying to transfer if there is a corrupted image or file. try to transfer by batches instead all at once
