Touch malfuction, notification bar not opening

Since the latest update, my phone is not responding to drop down/ notification. Again it starts/stops apps all by itself. I  have so far removed screen protector and thouroughly wiped the screen clean but it still appears to be operating menu by itself.

Boot on safe mode and report back, make sure to remove any film or glass and/or protective case

Tried on safe mode but still it takes me like 5 times to drag down the status/notification bar. I have no glass or protective cover.

Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test

@uliwooly unfortunately I do not have diagnostics under the 'about phone' menu in settings. Does this depend on the country?

I just remember that it's not in the Xperai Z but Open the phone app > dial > *#*#7378423#*#* > wait > wait > then open service tests

@uliwooly, thanks, did the tests and found that there is a small area in the display just a few milimeters from the top of the screen where touch is not responding. I guess this is the reason why I can not be able to pull down the notification status drop down menu.

You will have to contact your Local support to get the device inspected

Thanks but there is no official Sony Local support in my country. However is there a way that i can downgrade the software that I am using, maybe if i roll back to 5.0.0? Can you guide me on this?
