Reboot-loop when restarting device after lollipop update

Hi,

I have got an xperia Z3 device and so far everything has been working fine. Since the latest android update however (lollipop), my phone is constantly rebooting itself, when i want to perform a simple restart. I tried the pcc repair tool twice already. it works, but as soon as i want to restart my device, it gets stuck in a reboot loop.

I also tried removing the sim card. It still gets stuck in a reboot loop.

The question I now have is the following. Is this problem gonna fix itself with an update / bugfix or similar, or do i really have to return my phone and get a new one?

Thanks for any information.

Another issue, I tried to bring the phone back to the provider and they said I need to wait for 5.1!!!

Does anybody know when 5.1 will be released? If it's very soon I could wait but that's usually not the case.

5.1 update is already certified. Next week they are starting 5.0.2 update for Z1, Z1C, Z Ultra followd by C3 and then finally the Z series. My guess is that you will get 5.1 after that. but you can always conect your local Xperia Support.

My Z3 phone has just installed a system software update (Lollipop?) after downloading the phone shut down and tried to reboot itself. It gets to the Sony Xperia screen, the first screen at swtich on, and then turns off and reboots. It gets no further. I have tried plugging it into PC Companion to see if I can update it from there but the phone is not recognised. I now have a useless rectangle that constantly reboots instead of a phone.

I have also tried rebooting without the SD card and SIM and get the same result. I can only stop it from the eternal boot loop by holding the power button and volume up to turn it off.

Has anyone any ideas please? So far I'm not impressed with Sony's update.

what if you turn off the phone and then run PCC, if that  doesn't work try with a different USB cable. if nothing work contact your local Xperia Care

Did you try to turn it as it was updating as your phone will turn off to finish the update so if you interrupted this then you need to perform a system repair and would be your only option in the case

Performing a system repair using PC Companion - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Hi

I installed the Lollipop upgrade on my Z3 last night - now it's stuck in a reboot loop.

I just get the SONY logo in the middle and XPERIA at the bottom for a few seconds, then it all goes black and starts again.

Removing the SIM does nothing and there's no MicroSD card in it.

I can't do anything with PC Companion as it's not detected - it doesn't stay detected long enough for the computer to install drivers i assume (not been connected toa  computer before).

I can get to fastboot, but there are no drivers found for it.

Any suggestions? Or is this a service centre job?

Thanks

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data but sounds like this is the only option you have I'm sorry to say

Thanks, Thommo, but PC Companion doesn't work for me. The phone doesn't stay on long enough for the computer to install drivers.

When you perform a repair of the phones software using PC Companion you should not connect the phone while it's turned on (or stuck in a loop like this). You first need to force a shutdown of the phone. You can do this by holding the red/yellow button next to the SIM card for a few seconds. Then don't try to turn on the phone again.

Go through the steps

Hey Sony, how are you guys doing today. So basically, long story short, okay, I updated my phone, and for the last 5 hours it has been constantly shutting down and restarting. After 3 seconds. It gives me no time for factory resets. It gives me no time for safe mode restarts. Before the update I had no problem with my sim, but for the 3 seconds my phone turns on for, it tells me "No SIM- Emergency calls only". I have tried all manners of sim reconfigurations to no avail. Whatever can I do, Sony?!?!?!?
