playing videos

i have transferred videos from my phone but they won't play on my computer as it says windows cannot open the file. i phoned the phone company and they said i had to download a codec so i can play the videos.i have tried this but it played havoc with my computer so i uninstalled it but dont know if i did it right. can anyone advise please?

Use a free program called VLC Media player That plays almost everything I throw at it

Did you transfer via mediago?

I can play them on my phone no problem.

Yes but don't know if I've done it right. Every time I use media go the screen goes blue and I have to force a computer shutdown as everything freezes.

Why don't you copy them manually?

Hi

I am having the same problem, How can i convert the sony video clip from my phone to a video file like windows media?

I.E i have made a video of my daughter riding her bike, now i want to send this clip to her Gran but when i do her Gran cant open it is there an easy way for me to convert the file first?
