No Facebook Notifications for Likes?

Hi all,

Firstly, I love my Z1 Compact - for the most part it does exactly what I want the way I want. But I've found one thing that I can't figure out and now I'm driving me mad.

I can't get Facebook notifications for likes...

Right now, I know I receive notifications (sound, flashing LED, icon in the notification bar) for private messages, comments, event invites, etc but I don't receive a push notification for when someone likes a status or photo or something..? However, if someone likes my status, I do get a yellow badge on the Facebook app shortcut...

Is this normal? I've checked all the app settings and notification settings, but they all seem to be set to 'on' or 'active'. Is there a problem here, or is there actually no way to receive actual alerts (sound, LED, notification bar icon) for Facebook likes?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

As far as I know this is how the Facebook app works for Android. There might be some 3rd party app which enables other notification settings but I haven't used any.

yea, it's facebook's fault. they choose not to implement notification for likes.

although i vaguely remember the app having like notifications 4 years ago
