If I have locked bootloader and I somehow soft brick my xsp, will I be able to recover my device from the nandroid backup that I have done using an app (can't remember the name).

I think you can recover but you need to repair your software

Hey...you can install CWM,TWRP and Philz recovery on Locked Bootloader too...search in XDA forums(may help)

You can effortlessly take and restore Nandroid backups and they keep your SP secure too.
